“Everything comes to pass, nothing comes to stay.”

– Matthew Flickstein

I can’t recall anyone I’ve ever met who was happy about the Spring time change.

Soca nördlich von KobaridEvery year, there are the assorted grumbles over the morning commute’s darkness, the laments over the lost hour, the gripes about how it really doesn’t save energy, and the curses at how the government has to be meddling in such matters.

But, like all change, it is simply change. In this case, a small change in a never-ending stream of change that flows by us like a river.

While we can’t stop the river of change, we can choose how we confront the flow. We can fight it, avoid it, or ride with it. And in life, we need to know how to do all three. When confronted with change, it’s helpful to know that we are still in control of our emotions, and our perceptions.

With change comes choice.

The past few days of giving time … Many, many rides downtown for my son’s Robotics competition, piano recital, Laser Tag with my daughter’s friends, sleepover last night … Never ending change.
